About Hippie Dabble

The hippies of the 1960’s have become the boomers of today, but what happened to the hippie movement and lifestyle?  If you search the internet, you’ll find plenty of articles on “neo-hippies” – some arguing that neo-hippies are the modern day version of the 60’s hippies and others bemoaning neo-hippies’ wannabe cluelessness.  Beyond labels though, what you find is people actually living the hippie life without the need for labels.  You’ll find tons on “off-grid” living, lots of van and bus remodels for the nomad life,  some minimalism, political activism, mindful meditation, love for the earth, and the fight for fairness and freedom.  We say these are all worthy of the hippie label.

While we would love to go all out and live in a van by the river or go off grid in the forest, quit our jobs and march on Washington, or empty our home of worldly possessions and meditate all day, none of those things are realistic for us right now.  What we can do, however, and what we suspect many of you are doing or would like to do, is dabble.

Hippie Dabble started out as a blog with the intent to focus on subjects such as sustainable living, alternative energy sources, environmentally friendly products, social justice, minimalism, health & wellness, inner peace, and feel good stories.  As Tessa began researching for posts, she quickly discovered a world of information and resources already written or recorded and has worked to share those resources with you through the Hippie Dabble Digest.

Hippie Dabble has evolved to include not only the Hippie Dabble Digest but also an online shop and a physical store in Casper, Wyoming where we sell candles, card decks, bags for your cards and stones, bonsai kits, books and journals, incense, incense burners, jewelry, metaphysical stones, mineral lamps, tapestries, tea and tea accessories, tie dye & boho clothing and bags, water fountains, wax burners and melts, yoga and meditation supplies, zen gardens, and more.

You can read more about who we are below.  We're working on new content and getting all of the products put into the online Shop, so please check back often! Also, stop by and visit us at our physical location at 150 S. Wolcott in Casper.  If you have anything you would like to see on the blog or in the shop, please email us at contact@HippieDabble.com.

Tessa J. Davis

Hippie/Founder

The team started out as just me trying to write a blog.  As we've opened our store, it has expanded to include my husband/business partner, who I am so grateful for.  Eventually I would like to expand even more so that we are a full brand and team.  I also want to build not only a team, but also a community.

At the beginning of 2024, I quit my job as a paralegal to run the store full time.  When I'm not at the store I like to spend my time with my family, take care of and expand my perennial food and flower garden, and write.  I also love being outdoors - hiking, water skiing, kayaking, and sitting in my yard watching the birds and smelling the flowers.

Our family dog, Jack (aka Jack the Terrible), and I have just taken up morning running.  It's slow going, but that's ok - we'll get there when we get there.  And that's how I feel about life - take it slow and enjoy the scenery.

The Bead Dude/Co-Founder

You may have seen this blue-bearded guy around town.  He's known as The Bead Dude for his exceptional ability to make beautiful, holistic, semi-precious stone bead jewelry and malas.  When he's not beading or working at the Hippie Dabble store, you can probably find him at this regular 9 to 5.  We won't say where, but we're sure you've seen him!  He also loves spending time with his family and playing video games.
