Hippie Dabble Digest 45: An important Hippie Dabble update, fall garden prep, California condors’ return, recycled vs new lithium batteries, how words shape the brain, and more

Welcome to week 45 of the Hippie Dabble Digest. Please check out the On the Website section below for some changes to the Substack newsletter and Hippie Dabble website.

This week’s just for fun link is a simple yet addicting game called Threes. You start with a 4×4 grid with a few random cards numbered 1 through 3. Your goal is to move the cards around to create stacks of multiples of 3 as one new card is placed down each time you move until the board is filled up and you can no longer move. The game will then add up your multiples of 3 and give you a score. What’s the highest score you can get? http://threesjs.com/

How Other People’s Words and Actions Shape the Brain

This is a great article on the effects other people’s words and actions have on your brain. Sticks and stones may break your bones AND words can also hurt you! The good news though, is that words can also heal you. This is why it is so important to pay attention to our words and how we say them to each other. On the Website

I have been contemplating for a long time what to do with this newsletter and the website. I have finally come to a decision. I am expanding! I am starting to write my own posts, but will keep doing the weekly collection of links in the Digest. To make things easier, the Substack newsletter is going to be transitioned to Mailchimp. The weekly newsletter will include a link to the Hippie Dabble Digest that will appear on the website, links to all other articles that have been written throughout the week, some new or featured products, and of course a coupon code. The transition will take place over the next 7 weeks, and I hope to have it done for week 53 of the Hippie Dabble Digest. All subscribers of the Substack newsletter will automatically be transitioned to Mailchimp. I have also updated the logo. Check it out on the quote below. What do you think?

In the shop, I’ve added a few more products. My goal for the next week is to get 5 products added every single day until they are all on there. (It’ll take awhile.) Keep checking back! https://hippiedabble.com/shop/ This week’s coupon code is available to all readers on the site and is good for 10% off your entire order: HDD4510P.

Quote of the Week
